Station 78 responded to report of Fire Alarm!

Mon. Oct 12th 2009

E-783 responded to report of fire alarm while enroute dispatch advise us it was a field fire at the location. Once on scene we found a 1/2 Acre fire behind the residence. The occupant advised they called the non emergency number for Dunnellon Fire Rescue which is located in Marion County and no one answered. I explained to him to call 911. He told me after no answer at DFD he pushed the fire alarm button in his residence. The alarm monitoring company called 911 and we responded. So remember in an emergency call 911!
